Dovilangam is a new innovative instrument experimented by Sarvesh. The name Dovilangam is an amalgamation of Do - from Dolak, Vil - from Thavil and Angam from Mridangam.
The Dovilangam's playing technique is a unique combination derived from the techniques of the Dolak, Thavil and Mridangam, by Sarvesh.
The usage of different tools like the finger caps and stick of the Tavil and other accessories is also a new aspect of the Dovilangam.
The Dovilangam's idea and techniques were much appreciated, endorsed and blessed by great Percussion Legends and Masters like Sri. Vikku Vinayakram, Sri. Thirupungur Muthukumaraswamy, Sri.
